This policy explains what information blog.suvendudash.com collects, why it is collected, and the choices you have. This is a personal blog run by Suvendu Dash in India. In this policy, “I” and “me” refer to me as the owner of the blog.
1. Information you give me
- Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message. I use these only to read and reply to your message, which is delivered to my email inbox.
- Newsletter: if you subscribe, your email address is stored with Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) so I can send you new posts. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Comments are switched off on this blog, so no comment data is collected.
2. Information collected automatically
- Analytics: Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) uses cookies to record how the blog is used, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser. I only look at this in aggregate to understand which content is useful. Burst Statistics also counts page views on this server without identifying you.
- Spam and bot protection: the contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA and Cloudflare Turnstile, which check device and interaction signals to tell people from bots. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to reCAPTCHA.
- Security and delivery: the blog is delivered through Cloudflare and protected by a security firewall (Wordfence). Both process IP addresses and request details to block attacks and serve pages quickly. My hosting server keeps short-term access logs for the same reason.
- Fonts: some fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser requests them.
3. Cookies
The blog uses analytics cookies from Google, security cookies from Cloudflare, and small functional cookies needed for the site to work. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the blog will still work.
4. Sharing your information
I do not sell your personal information. It is shared only with the service providers named above, which process it to provide their services, or when the law requires it.
5. How long information is kept
- Contact messages: as long as needed to reply, and then for a reasonable period for my records.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics: according to the retention period set in Google Analytics.
6. Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and similar laws where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete the personal data I hold about you, or withdraw your consent. Email me at [email protected] and I will respond within 30 days.
7. Children
This blog is not aimed at anyone under 18, and I do not knowingly collect their personal data.
8. Changes to this policy
If the way I handle information changes, I will update this page. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
